Ministry of Health and State Customs Committee Strengthen Cooperation in the Oversight of Medicines and Medical Devices
On 19 June 2026, a meeting was held between the leadership of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Customs Committee to strengthen interagency cooperation in the oversight of medicines and medical devices.
During the meeting, the parties discussed enhancing the exchange of information through the integration of their electronic information systems and providing authorized access to the relevant structural units of both institutions. These measures are expected to improve the efficiency of regulatory processes related to medicines and medical devices.
The participants also agreed to establish joint working groups consisting of specialists and relevant officials to address existing and potential issues in the circulation of medicines and medical devices. In addition, the parties reached an agreement on organizing joint training sessions and seminars to strengthen professional knowledge and cooperation.
The meeting also covered further cooperation on improving the regulatory framework, including legislative amendments related to the responsibilities and joint activities of both institutions.
The leadership of the Analytical Expertise Center also participated in the meeting. At its conclusion, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation and continuing coordinated efforts to achieve the agreed objectives.
