A meeting was held at the Analytical Expertise Center with the management of pharmaceutical companies regarding deficiencies encountered in the use of the Track and Trace System

On 24 July 2026, a meeting was held in the assembly hall of the Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan between the Center’s employees and the management representatives of several major pharmaceutical companies operating in Azerbaijan and owning pharmacy chains.

The meeting was organized in connection with the deficiencies identified by the Center’s employees in the use of the Medicines Track and Trace System during the circulation of medicinal products.

During the meeting, detailed information was provided on the serious problems encountered to date in the use of the System, and discussions were held regarding the essential measures to be taken in order to prevent serious deficiencies in the future. The discussions covered both wholesale pharmaceutical establishments and the pharmacies operating under those establishments.

During the event, the nature and purpose of the Track and Trace System were once again explained in detail to the company representatives. It was clearly communicated that the correct and accurate use of the System by wholesale pharmaceutical establishments, which constitute an important part of the long supply chain from the manufacturer to the final consumer, as well as the establishment of direct control mechanisms to prevent violations of the applicable requirements and disruptions in information exchange, must be considered one of the companies’ main and immediate priorities.

The existing inconsistencies in the companies’ use of the System, the serious consequences that may arise from such inconsistencies, and the methods for eliminating them were brought to the participants’ attention. The companies were requested to once again instruct and warn the establishments under their authority regarding the proper use of the Track and Trace System in accordance with the applicable instructions.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the employees of the Analytical Expertise Center provided appropriate answers to the questions raised by the participants.
